Genesis BBQ, the operator of the franchise, will raise prices for their popular menu item, Golden Olive Chicken, by 3,000 KRW, along with an average 6.3% increase for 23 other products, starting from May 23rd. This marks the first price hike for BBQ in two years. With this increase, the price of Golden Olive Chicken will rise from 20,000 KRW to 23,000 KRW, and Jamaica Grilled Chicken Legs from 21,500 KRW to 24,000 KRW. The Golden Olive Chicken Combo will now cost consumers 27,000 KRW instead of the previous 24,000 KRW. BBQ attributes the increase to rising costs of raw materials, minimum wage, rent, and utilities, affecting franchisee profits. They've adjusted prices in line with government policies to stabilize prices.
