Starbucks Korea is considering raising the price of its Americano for the first time in nearly eight years due to rising coffee bean prices. The last price increase was in July 2014. Compared to other coffee chains, Starbucks has offered a relatively cheaper Americano. However, the recent surge in Arabica coffee prices, due to severe drought and cold weather in Brazil, the largest coffee producer, has led to this reconsideration.
Starbucks will adjust its prices, maintaining the Tall-sized Americano at 4,500 KRW. The Grande size will increase from 5,000 KRW to 5,300 KRW, and the Venti size will rise from 5,500 KRW to 6,100 KRW. The Cold Brew Trenta size will go up by 400 KRW, from 6,900 KRW to 7,300 KRW. Meanwhile, the Short-sized Americano will be reduced from 4,000 KRW to 3,700 KRW.
